Elgin manufactured only 38,000 of this popular model between 18 in only 30 production runs. This is an 18 size Elgin made in the USA pocket watch movement and it is a stem wind and stem set piece. Silveroid means 95 nickel and 5 silver just a neat 'buzz word' to have people back in the day to think they are buying a 'silver case'.

The nickel silver movement is in superb condition without reckless jewelers marks or corrosion, just a pristine pocket watch. This case is signed 'Philadelphia watch Case' The serial number for this Silveroid case is 88,173. This fine Elgin movement has 15 fine ruby jewels and a beautifully damasked nickel silver plates movement with gold center wheel and micro regulator. This Elgin Movement is a High Grade #133 Movement and referred to as a three quarter plate movement.

This fine Elgin dial is highlighted with the original blue steel Spade/Spade Hands all in excellent condition and shows beautifully. Then we have a sunken sub register for the second hand. We have the raised portion for the antique Elgin font logo and the beautiful Roman numerals with the classic railroad track design around the outer circumference. The single sunk dial is made of many layers of baked silica on two metal plates for that deep rich glass finish. This fine Elgin Dial is referred to as single sunk and is in excellent condition with no issues, a rare find. Hopefully the many picture’s help tell the story of this extra fine 109 year old antique Elgin Lady’s Pocket Watch. The dial, case, hands and movement are all in just excellent condition. The Lady’s Pendant or Pocket Watch was not common at the turn at the century and was a symbol of status and prestige. We have a wonderful Elgin Grade 133 Model 2 housed in a beautifully engraved Hunter Case all in just excellent condition. These Hunter Case Pocket Watches are getting harder to locate due to the soft metal few have survived the 109 years in such fine condition. This Elgin Pocket Watch is a size 6 and measures 1 5/6th inches in diameter the largest of the lady’s sizes manufactured in the day.
